The Department of Food and Nutrition food truck will be delivering and serving free, balanced and nutritious lunches with fresh fruits and vegetables to thousands of children, aged 18 and under in Miami-Dade County, weekdays during the summer. The lunches must be eaten on the participating schools’ campuses. Additionally, each site will have one or two activities – a book mobile or a Colgate tooth paste dental hygiene mobile. An average of 66 percent of Miami-Dade County Public Schools students are on the free or reduced-price lunch program. Throughout the year, parents rely on the food the District offers to feed their children. This program will not only help M-DCPS students but also neighborhood children.
