Miami-Dade
County Public Schools (M-DCPS) is gearing up for Summer of Synergy 2021, a
three-week institute scheduled for July 12-30, 2021 designed to provide parents/caregivers
and all instructional personnel a robust menu of professional development
offerings. During Synergy, M-DCPS employees have the opportunity to prepare and
plan for the upcoming school year. This year’s theme is “Strength Reimagined.”
In
2020, Synergy began offering educational content for parents/caregivers via The
Parent Academy. This
summer, the annual three-day event has been expanded to three weeks in an
effort to provide parents, caregivers and educational leaders access to
training on helping children transition
back to face-to-face learning, mitigate learning gaps, address physical and
social emotional needs, and support families during this critical period of
recovery.
Registration
is now open for the 25 live-interactive webinars covering topics such as
challenging behaviors, gifted learners, mindful parenting, parents as leaders
and Discovery Education resources. Space is limited to 500 attendees per
session. Visit https://parentacademymiami.com/synergy-parents-live-webinars/ to register.
Additionally,
beginning July 1st, 16 pre-recorded sessions will be available for parents and
caregivers to view at their leisure. The English, Spanish and Haitian-Creole sessions
will be posted on the Synergy section of The Parent Academy website: https://parentacademymiami.com/synergy/.
