A CHANCE FOR EVERYONE TO HELP EDUCATION
In a time of great economic and budgetary challenges, Adopt-A-Classroom offers a unique opportunity to help local classrooms. The program encourages individuals to donate funds to a classroom, allowing educators to offset their out-of-pocket expenses by providing much-needed supplies and materials to their students. It’s a great way to get community partners involved in public education.
Participating in the Adopt-A-Classroom program is simple. A donor selects a classroom or teacher and makes a financial contribution. The teacher then receives the donation as an online credit, which allows them to shop via the Internet with affiliated vendors. The full contribution is directed to the classroom. Donors are also able to contribute in other ways, including classroom visitations and more. They are able to form a lasting relationship with their adopted classroom and share in the students’ success. It’s the perfect way to make a meaningful donation and see the results.
“With the donations I received from Adopt-A-Classroom, I was able to purchase mathematics and science tools and reading comprehension games. The use of these materials has helped to motivate my students and address everyone's learning style,” said Morningside Elementary School teacher Rajni Vanmali. “The generous donors have helped to contribute to the enrichment of my classroom.”
Adopt-A-Classroom is an important tool in building teacher and student morale. The program lets educators and schools know that they have the support of the community. It sends the message to educators that their work has value and is appreciated and teaches children that the community supports them.
