Miami-Dade County Public Schools will observe its 11th annual AIDS
Awareness Week from November 27 to December 1. Lessons and activities
during the week will focus on AIDS prevention. Community volunteers,
including persons living with AIDS, are scheduled to provide
educational lectures.
On Monday, Nov. 27, senior high, alternative and selected middle
school students will participate in a field trip to the Miami Beach
Convention Center, 1901 Convention Center Drive, to view Florida's
largest display of the AIDS Quilt. Many schools have designed panels
to be dedicated to the Quilt Memorial.
