Miami-Dade County Public Schools Federal Programs and Grants Administration Title I Program will hold its annual Instructional Fair/Seminar on Tuesday, September 28, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., at the Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel & Convention Centre, 711 N.W. 72 Avenue.

Approximately 800 parents, educators and friends are expected to attend the event's training sessions and workshops, which are designed to present the latest trends in language and literacy. Attendees will have the opportunity to preview educational materials and attend concurrent sessions with internationally known educational consultants. Title I schools are designated by a high percentage of students who are eligible for free and reduced price meals.

The seminar's keynote speaker will be former space shuttle astronaut Col. Mike Mullane, whose adventures in space have helped him launch a second career in the world of education, encouraging students to reach for the stars. He is the author of the award-winning children's book, "Liftoff!," and a popular space fact book, "Do Your Ears Pop in Space?"
