April 26, 1999
All-star student athletes will compete in the seventh-annual north
Miami-Dade versus south Miami-Dade basketball game, Thursday, April
29, 1999, 7:30 p.m., at Miami Springs Senior High School, 751 Dove
Avenue, Miami Springs.
All proceeds from ticket sales to the game, underwritten by
UNITEDhealthcare of Florida, will benefit the College Assistance
Program (CAP). Last year, CAP granted hundreds of scholarships to
deserving Miami-Dade County Public Schools students who otherwise
would not have been able to afford college.
The game will feature a unique format. Boys and girls squads will
compete in the same game playing alternate quarters.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the School Board's Citizen
Information Center, 1450 N.E. Second Avenue, Room 158, or at the door
the night of the game. For more information, call Alex Bromir at
305-995-1215.
