A ceremony dedicating the new Jose de Diego Middle School, 3100 N.W. 5th Ave., will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 21.

The new school opened for students at the beginning of the school year, becoming the middle school for the area when Booker T. Washington Middle was converted to a high school.

School officials and business and community leaders will participate in the ceremony. The project is part of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools' long-term building and renovation program.
