The International Business and Finance Academy at Miami Jackson
Senior High School will hold a recruiting program, Thursday, Feb. 11,
from 9 to 11:30 a.m., at the school, 1751 N.W. 36 Street. Over 400
Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) middle school students are
expected to attend. They will have the opportunity to apply to the
academy, which is a magnet program of M-DCPS, for the 1999-2000
school year.
The Academy for International Business and Finance prepares students
to be business leaders. The program focuses on international business
and technology. Academy graduates have been honored nationally and
participate on the school~s local advisory committee.
Miami Jackson Senior High School's academy is a member program of the
National Academy Foundation (NAF). NAF currently operates Acadernies
of Finance and Academies of Travel & Tourism through major
support from Citigroup, the American Express Company, Merrill Lynch
and Co. Foundation, Inc., Bloomberg Financial Markets, the Fannie Mae
Foundation, McGraw-Hill, Inc., Global Vacation GrouL;5 F'rudential
Securities, Inc. and the Bankers Trust Corporation. For more
