A ceremony dedicating a new middle learning center at Leisure City
Elementary School, 14950 S.W. 288th St., and celebrating the
conversion of the school to a K-8 facility will be held at 9 a.m.
Tuesday, May 9.
The new two-story building, which opened at the beginning of the
school year, includes 11 classrooms, a science demonstration lab, a
band complex, a foreign language center, an art suite, a
business/technology exploration area, a cafeteria, a multipurpose
complex and an office/clinic suite. The school also began its K-8
programming at the beginning of the school year.
School officials and business and community leaders will participate
in the ceremony. The construction project is part of the Miami-Dade
County Public Schools' long-term building and renovation program.
