Jazz legend Chuck Mangione will coach the jazz bands at Miami
Northwestern Senior High School and South Miami Senior High School in
separate sessions tomorrow (Thursday, Jan. 21).
At 10 a.m. the Grammy award winner will work with the band at Miami
Northwestern Senior High, 1100 N.W. 71 Street. At 1 p.m. he will
coach the band at South Miami Senior High, 6856 S.W. 53 Street.
Mangione is in South Florida to accept the first AMBIE award from the
Dade Cultural Alliance in a ceremony on Friday evening at the
Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Also being honored for his cultural
leadership is Miami-Dade Mayor Alex Penelas.
