Humberto Garcia a mathematics teacher at G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School, will receive a Siemens Teacher Award for Advanced Placement at a ceremony following a 6 p.m. reception and dinner on Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 267 Marietta St., Atlanta. Garcia has taught at Braddock for nine years and is being honored for his work teaching Advanced Placement Calculus.

The awards are presented by the Siemens Foundation and the College Board annually and honor 20 outstanding teachers nationwide who have dedicated their time, talent and energy to helping their students achieve at the highest academic level. Each teacher will receive $1,000 and a plaque.
