A groundbreaking ceremony for a major addition that will result in
Miami Lakes Tech, 5780 N.W. 1 58th St., becoming a full high school
will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 6.
The addition will provide 1,708 student stations and will include 36
classrooms for English, math, social studies, science, exceptional
students education, foreign language studies, and health education;
three computer labs; two art labs; a music sutie; an auditorium with
five classrooms for drama; a media center; a gymnasium; an
administration/student services complex; and a kitchen and dining
area.
The educational program will be integrated with the existing
vocational and technical complex at Miami Lakes Tech.
School officials and business and community leaders will participate
in the ceremony. The project is part of the Miami-Dade County Public
Schools' long-term building and renovation program.
