Miami-Dade County Public Schools will hold a conference for parents
of students in schools implementing the Title I Program on Friday,
Oct. 6, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 7, from 7:30 a.m.
to 1:30 p.m. at the Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel Convention Center, 711
N.W. 72 Ave.
The conference, titled “Narrowing The Achievement Gap,” is
expected to bring together more than 800 parents, educators and
community representatives to provide parents with a variety of tools
and skills for working with children at home and at school.
Conference workshop strands will include benchmarks on closing the
achievement gap, parental involvement, storytelling, curricula/best
practices and professional development activities.
