South Miami Senior High School's principal, Thomas L. Shaw, was
recently awarded the 1999 Superior High School Principal of the Year
Award by the South Florida Association of Phi Beta Kappa for his
outstanding leadership in promoting academic excellence.
The association is composed of Miami-area residents who were elected
to membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society at colleges and
