Miami-Dade County Public Schools honored its principal and assistant
principal of the year at a recognition ceremony, Thursday, Jan. 20,
at the Radisson Mart Centre. Miami Sunset Senior High School
Principal Dennis Davis was named principal of the year and received a
check for $5,000. Miami Edison Senior High School Principal Santiago
C. Corrada was named runner up and received a check for $2,500.
Assistant principal of the year was Eugene Butler, Jr., of South
Miami Senior High School, who received $2,500.
The winners were chosen from nominees representing each region and
the Bureau of Adult/Vocational, Alternative and Dropout Prevention
Programs. The event is sponsored by First Union and United Way of
Miami-Dade.
