The Robert Renick Educational Center will unveil a sculpture of the school's mascot Wednesday, June 2, 10:30 a.m., at the school, 2201 N.W. 207 Street, Opa-locka. “Rattler’s-R Us,” a stucco cement rattlesnake covered in ceramic tiles, is more than 50 feet long. It was created by the school’s students under the direction of vocational teacher Antonio Vasquez. The project was funded by a Dade Public Education Fund grant written by Vasquez.

The Renick Center is a specialized middle school for students who are emotionally handicapped and/or severely emotionally disturbed. For more information, contact the school’s principal, Eugenia Smith at 305-624-1171.
