MIAMI-DADE SCHOOL HONORED BY GOV. BUSH
June 18, 2003
Miami's Comstock Elementary School was honored by Gov. Jeb
Bush for improvement in school performance at a press
conference this morning. The school's performance grade
moved from an "F" last year to a "C" this year. Comstock
Principal Alejandro Perez was in Tallahassee to accept the
governor's congratulations.
"This outstanding improvement represents the hard work of
students, teachers, parents, volunteers and administrators,"
said Schools Superintendent Merrett R. Stierheim. "It shows
that the members of a school community, working together,
can move mountains."
