CORAL REEF SENIOR HIGH STUDENT SELECTED AS FINALIST IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION November 29, 2001 Stephanie Martinez, a senior in Coral Reef Senior High School's vocal magnet program, was chosen as one of seven finalists at the Takasaki International Art and Music Competition on Nov. 24th in Takasaki, Japan. Martinez competed against 94 vocalist entrants from around the world to win the honor. She was awarded the Hironaka Heisuke Award for "abundant creative ability and artistic endeavors" and received 50,000 yen (approximately $404). Additionally, the president of Takasaki University invited her to return to Japan to give a full-length concert.
