KROP, INGRAM TAPPED TO LEAD MIAMI-DADE SCHOOL BOARD

November 19, 2002

Twenty-two-year Miami-Dade School Board veteran Michael M. Krop was chosen today to chair the Board in the coming year.

First elected to the Board in 1980, the representative from District 3 has served as chair twice before. A Miami Beach orthodontist, he succeeds Perla Tabares Hantman, who chaired the Board from 1999-2002.

Four-year veteran Robert Ingram, first elected in 1998, was picked as vice-chair, also for a one-year term. The former Opa-locka mayor represents District 1. He succeeds Krop, who served as vice chair from 1999-2002.
