M-DCPS SWEEPS STATE ‘WE THE PEOPLE...THE CITIZEN AND THE CONSTITUTION’ COMPETITION

January 25, 2001

Miami-Dade County Public Schools swept the state "We the People...The Citizen and The Constitution" competition held in Orlando earlier this month. Student teams from Miami Palmetto, MAST Academy and Coral Reef senior high schools placed first, second and third, respectively. The team from Miami Killian Senior High School also won a competition unit award.

The annual competition tests students' knowledge of the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The first place Miami Palmetto senior high team will represent Florida at the "We The People..." national competition in Washington, D.C. this May.
