'BUDDY READERS' NEEDED TO HELP THIRD-GRADE STUDENTS
IMPROVE READING SKILLS

Reading tutors to help struggling students pass the Florida
Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) are needed for an
intensive summer reading camp, July 7 - Aug. 3 in more than
50 public elementary schools throughout Miami-Dade
County.
Volunteer "buddy readers" will receive training plus the
opportunity to volunteer where and as often as they would
like. Readers will be asked to work in 9 a.m. - noon
shifts.
Tutors must attend one of the following training
sessions:
Wednesday,
June 16, 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Tropical Elementary School, 4545 S.W. 104 Ave., Miami
Thursday,
June 17, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Biscayne Gardens Elementary School, 560 N.W. 151 St.,
Miami
