M-DCPS STUDENTS NAMED FINALISTS IN COOKING CONTEST

Eight Miami-Dade County Public Schools students were named finalists in the Kiwanis Calle Ocho Cooking Contest to be held Tuesday, March 9th at 6 p.m. at Casa Panza, 1620 S.W. 8th St.

Loraine Rodriguez and Charles E. Williams will represent Lindsey Hopkins Technical Education Center. Rodriguez will prepare Medallion of Lamb Loin in Opal Basil and Portabella Mushroom Stuffing "En Croute." Williams will prepare Florida Citrus-Marinated Shrimp, Scallops and Lobster Kabob with Tropical Fruit Salsa.

Myrlande Regis from G. Holmes Braddock Senior High will cook Spicy African Chicken with Watermelon & Tomato Salad. Olga Palacio of Fienberg/ Fisher Adult Education Center will present Gorgonzola-Encrusted Fillet with Sauteed Spinach, Heart of Palm Fries and Yellow and Rei Ali Panka Sauce.

Petra Ragols of Miami Lakes Technical School will prepare Puerco Criollo, and Fendrick Gilliam of Miami Edison Senior High will prepare his recipe Gilliam's Island.

Raymond Linares of MAST Academy will prepare Poseiden's Pleasure. Lester Andila of Miami Lakes Educational Center will present Shrimp & Crab Ceviche in Chimmichurri Dip.
