M-DCPS OPENS NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART MIDDLE SCHOOL

Miami-Dade County Public Schools will hold a dedication ceremony at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 20 at Lamar Louise Curry Middle School, 15750 S.W. 47 St. The 2003-2004 school year opened with 250 sixth-graders. Over the next three years, 1,700 students will attend in grades 6-8.

The school has a six-acre lake, a playing field, and a three-story main academics building. Another building houses specialized areas of instruction, including art, health, agri-science, family and consumer science and technology. The auditorium and music wing are centered around an open European-style plaza.
