M-DCPS SUPERINTENDENT TO PARTICIPATE IN TOWN HALL MEETING ON ETHICS

Schools Superintendent Merrett R. Stierheim will participate in a town hall meeting Tuesday, April 27 from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Miami Museum of Science, 3280 South Miami Ave.

Panelists will discuss a recent report, "A Community's Resolve to Restore Integrity, Accountability and Public Trust: The Miami-Dade Experience (1996 to Present)," detailing what has been done to restore public trust in local government.

The meeting will be hosted by the Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics and Public Trust in conjunction with its Ethics Coalition partners. CBS4's Robin Kish will moderate the free event. Community members will be able to learn more about the report, meet Ethics Coalition members and hear local leaders' perspective on government accountability and other issues.

Other scheduled panelists include Michael Kosnitzky, former chair of the Public Health Trust; Marcos Jimenez, U.S. Attorney; Dr. Barbara Carey-Shuler, chairperson, Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners; and Elizabeth Hernandez, city attorney, City of Coral Gables.
