M-DCPS FIRST IN NATION TO LAUNCH
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) will launch "I Can Do It, You Can Do It," a national physical activity program for students with disabilities, at noon, Thursday, Oct. 7, at South Miami Senior High School, 6856 S.W. 53 St. M-DCPS was selected by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to develop the program and is the only school system in the country to launch it.

Students who participate in the program must complete a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity every day for six weeks. Upon completion, they will be awarded the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award Patch.

The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
