John Schuster WHO: Approximately 100 students with disabilities, teachers and Miami-Dade County Public Schools and City of Miami officials. WHAT: Presidential Active Lifestyle Award ceremony, where disabled students will be recognized for completing the "I Can Do It, You Can Do It" physical fitness program. WHEN: Tuesday, December 14. Students will begin a series of physical activities at 10:30 a.m. The awards ceremony will begin at noon. WHERE: Bayfront Park WHY: M-DCPS is the first school system in the country to pilot this program. Disabled students who participate in the program must complete a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity every day for six weeks.
