M-DCPS STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN ITALIAN POEM COMPETITION

The Organizzazione Per La Diffusione Della Lingua Italiana (O.D.L.I.) will hold its Third Annual Poem Competition on Saturday, April 24 at 9 a.m. at Key Biscayne International School, 160 Harbor Drive. Some 40 Miami-Dade public schools students are expected to compete.

The competition is open to all Italian-speaking elementary and middle school students in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Collier counties. Competition categories include poem recital, poem writing and song. Students in grades pre-K through eight are further divided into native Italian speakers and non-native Italian speakers.

A panel of native Italian speakers will judge students. First place will be given in each grade and category. The deadline for applications is April 19.
