STERLING AWARD-WINNING SCHOOL HOLDS BEST PRACTICES CONFERENCE

Dante B. Fascell Elementary School, 15625 S.W. 80th St., will hold a conference to showcase its state award-winning business practices Friday,Oct. 15, 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Open to the public, the conference will highlight the school's innovative strategies, help professionals network and offer ideas on performance tactics. Miami-Dade Superintendent of Schools Rudolph F. "Rudy" Crew and Florida Sterling Council Chairman John Pieno are scheduled as keynote speakers.

The school received the prestigious 2004 Governor's Sterling Award for Florida organizations that exhibit performance excellence. The school functions under three major performance areas: Student Achievement; High Performing Workforce; and Effective and Efficient Operations.

Fascell also has received an "A" rating under the state's A-Plus Plan for Excellence for the last three years.
