M-DCPS STUDENTS POSE QUESTIONS TO MAYORAL CANDIDATES

South Miami Senior High School social studies students will host a student-led panel discussion for Miami-Dade County mayoral candidates on Thursday, May 20 from 9-11 a.m. at Florida International University's University Park Campus in the Graham Center Ballroom. The campus is located at 11200 S.W. Eighth St.

All mayoral candidates will face questions from a panel of high school and college students. Potential questions will address education, poverty, transportation, the job market and the environment. Michael Putney of WPLG-Channel 10 will moderate the event.

South Miami High School, The Institute for Public Policy and Citizenship Studies at Florida International University, Students Promoting Political Awareness Resulting in Civic Engagement, Close Up Foundation, Youth Vote Coalition of Miami, Gray Panthers of South Dade and Advocates Parent Teacher Association will sponsor the event.
