M-DCPS OPENS SUMMER SCHOOL SESSION TODAY

Summer school opens today for Miami-Dade County Public
Schools students. The session runs through Aug. 3 and serves
students in grade 3 and grades 7-12. Approximately 55,843
students are expected to attend at a cost of $18
million.
Forty-six elementary schools, 12 middle schools and 32 high
schools are open. Third-graders attend from 8:30 a.m.-3
p.m., and 7th-12th-graders attend from 7:30 a.m.-1:10 p.m.
Students are admitted on a priority basis, with
third-graders who failed being served first.
Drivers are reminded to observe school speed zones that are
in effect during summer school.
