MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS CLASSES All Miami-Dade County public schools, adult education centers and offices will be closed on Friday, August 26, due to the anticipated effects of Tropical Storm Katrina. All extracurricular activities and athletic events have been canceled for Friday, August 26, and Saturday, August 27. Only Miami-Dade County Public Schools employees designated as "essential" by their direct supervisor should report to work on Friday, August 26. Students, parents and employees of the school district should tune in to local TV and radio stations, including WLRN-TV Channel 17 and WLRN-FM 91.3, for any updates.
