MELROSE ELEMENTARY HOSTS MULTICULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM MIAMI – Melrose Elementary School will host a Multicultural Exchange Program on Friday, March 23 at 9:30 a.m. to encourage interaction among students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Third through fifth-grade students from Phyllis Miller Elementary, Charles Drew Elementary, Sunset Elementary, and Citrus Grove Elementary will participate along with the student ambassadors from Melrose. The school is located at 3050 N.W. 35th St. The program begins with a performance from the Melrose’s violin ensemble at 9:45 a.m., followed by an arts and crafts project, a physical education activity, an interactive music lesson, and a multiple intelligence activity. Multiple Intelligences include linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal and naturalist. Students will have the opportunity to interact with each other through the various activities and explore their strengths in multiple intelligences. The first exchange occurred at Sunset Elementary last December. Students will continue to meet during March, April and May at participating schools. The Multicultural Exchange Program was created to prepare students to become productive members of a global society.
