SCHOOL PRINCIPALS FROM ITALY TO VISIT
MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC SCHOOLS

MIAMI— As a result of a partnership between Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ (M-DCPS) Division of Bilingual Education and World Languages and the Instituto Regionale Ricera Educative (IRRE) of Milano, Italy, M-DCPS will host three Italian educators from April 23-28.

The visitors include Rachele Nasazzi, an elementary school principal, Daniele Banfi, principal from Colleguio San Carlo, and Bruno Saladino from Liceo Classico. The educators will visit schools where a dual-language program in Italian is offered, as well as other schools of interest. The Coral Way K-8 Center and Charles D. Wyche Elementary, Lawton Chiles Middle, Design and Architecture Senior High, G.W. Carver Elementary, and Ponce de Leon Middle schools will participate.

M-DCPS administrators were approached a year and a half ago by a delegation from the IRRE, which expressed an interest in sharing education techniques.  A delegation of Miami-Dade educators was hosted by IRRE in December 2006.
