TEACHER FAIR 2007 LOOKS TO HIRE 1,500 TEACHERS

Miami-Dade County Public Schools will hold its annual TeacherFAIR at two locations on May 5, 11, and 12, with the goal of hiring at least 1,500 teachers for the 2007-2008 school year.

For candidates in south Dade, the fair will be Saturday, May 5, at Coral Reef Senior High, 10101 S.W. 152nd Street, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.  For candidates in north Dade, the fair will be held Friday, May 11, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and Saturday, May 12, 9 a.m.-noon at Florida International University’s Kovens Center, Biscayne Bay Campus, 3000 N.E. 151st Street.

The fair is designed to interview teachers and conduct onsite hiring of selected candidates.  Potential candidates must have a bachelor's degree with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 in their major and be eligible for state of Florida certification.  Instructional and non-instructional positions are available in the following areas: Elementary K-6, English, Exceptional Student Education, Guidance Counselor, Mathematics, Reading, Science, Speech Language Pathologists, and more.
