MIAMI-DADE KIDS GET A DOUBLE OFFERING

MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Public Schools students will have the opportunity to enroll in two special Chinese courses during summer school this year.

A Chinese Immersion Day Camp will be held at Dr. Carlos J. Finlay Elementary School, 851 S.W. 117 Ave., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 4 – 8.  Students will be involved in intensive Chinese language courses, cultural activities and demonstrations.  The program is open to students who are currently in grades 4 – 8.  The cost is free; students provide their own lunch.  For more information, please contact Dr. Harry Gao at 305-995-2440 or Harrygao@dadeschools.net.

Devon Aire K-8 Center also will offer Chinese classes at Sunset Park Elementary School, 10235 S.W. 84th St. from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., June 26 – July 24.  The course is open to students in grades K-8 and costs $100. Included are Chinese language, culture, cooking, history, and arts & crafts. Registration will be held at Devon Aire K-8 Center, 10501 S.W. 122 Ave, Room L-3, from 12:30 – 6 p.m., until May 30, and at Sunset Park Elementary after May 30.
