M-DCPS STUDENTS SHINE AT NATIONAL|
SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS COMPETITION

MIAMI – M-DCPS students recently participated in the national Science, Engineering, Communication, and Mathematics Enhancement (SECME) competition held at Daytona Beach, Fla.

SECME is a national educational program that encourages K-12 students to pursue careers in science and technology.  During the competition, students competed in elementary, middle, and senior high school grade levels.  They were challenged to apply their science, engineering, and mathematic talents to solve problems.

First Place - Miami Coral Park Senior High School

Additionally, Ankur Shah received the 2007 SECME/Exxon Mobil Overall Scholar award. Wendy Pino of Miami Coral Park Senior High School and Anjelica Warren of American Senior High School were awarded the 2007 SECME/Exxon Mobil State Scholar prize.  All of the winners received cash awards and trophies.
