  DR. WILBERT “TEE” HOLLOWAY SWORN IN AS SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER

MIAMI – Former State Representative Wilbert “Tee” Holloway was sworn in as School Board member for District 1 in a special ceremony at the School Board Administration Building yesterday.
           
Surrounded by family, friends, students, elected officials and many colleagues from the State House, Dr. Holloway was sworn in by the Honorable Teretha Lundy Thomas of the 11th Circuit Court of Florida.
           
School Board Chair Agustin J. Barrera began the ceremony, which was attended by School Board Vice Chair Perla Tabares Hantman, and School Board Members Evelyn Langlieb Greer, Dr. Martin Karp, Dr. Marta Pérez, Renier Diaz de la Portilla, and Dr. Solomon C. Stinson.
           
Also in attendance were retired U.S. Rep. Carrie Meek, State Sen. Frederica S. Wilson, State Rep. Ronald Brisé, State Rep. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall, State Rep. Carlos Lopez-Cantera, State Rep. Yolly Roberson, former State Rep. Phillip Brutus, County Commissioner Rebeca Sosa, County Commissioner Audrey Edmonson, Miami Gardens Mayor Shirley Gibson, Opa-Locka Mayor Joseph Kelly, Opa-Locka Commissioner Rose Tydus, Roly Marante, Chief of Staff for Office of Commissioner Sosa; Joyce Postell, District Director for U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek, and representatives from the offices of State Sen. Larcenia Bullard and State Rep. Edward Bullard.
           
The ceremony was followed by a reception at WLRN studios.
