***MEDIA ADVISORY*** Superintendent Crew and HEAT Players to Attend Superintendent Rudy Crew will join Jason Kapono, Wayne Simien, the HEAT Dancers, and Burnie today at 3:30 p.m. at Riverside Elementary (HEAT Academy) to help unveil the renovation of the second HEAT Learn & Play Center this season to serve the underprivileged children in the Little Havana area that attend the school. With the assistance of presenting sponsor Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida and additional support from City Furniture, Lifetime Products and Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the HEAT will be renovating an existing classroom with new computers, furniture, television, desks, and books to make it a HEAT home away from home. The room has undergone an extensive makeover with new paint, a HEAT mural designed by LEBO, and other touches to make it a place where the students can retreat and spend some quiet time reading a book or working on their homework. Following the press conference and ribbon-cutting ceremony, the HEAT players and Dancers will interact with the students of Riverside Elementary in their new HEAT Learn & Play Center.
