SUPERINTENDENT’S BENEFIT CONCERT SERIES TO BEGIN NOVEMBER 20

An assemblage of Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ (M-DCPS) most outstanding singers, dancers and performers will be featured at the Superintendent’s Benefit Concert Series beginning Friday, Nov. 20, 8 p.m. at Miami Beach Senior High School.  This first-of-its-kind concert, titled “Listen to the Music,” will raise funds for the Cultural Passport Program, which will provide K-12 students with a different cultural experience each school year.  Beach High is located at 2231 Prairie Ave., Miami Beach, FL  33139.

Performances at the concert include:

  • Elementary School Combined Chorus featuring three schools
  • Musical Theatre with the New World School of the Arts and Miami Northwestern Senior High’s PAVAC Theatre Ensemble
  • Ballad of America with Matthew Sabatella
  • M-DCPS Employee Jazz Ensemble
  • Dance from Southwood and Charles R. Drew middle schools
  • Opera from Coral Reef Senior High School

The goal of the Cultural Passport Program is to provide all K-12 students with a different cultural field experience each school year.  By the time a student graduates from senior high school, he/she will have visited museums and art galleries, and experienced live musical, theatrical and dance performances.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased online through TicketWeb at www.ticketweb.com/snl/VenueListings.action?venueId=51785 .  For further information, contact Robert T. Davis, District Supervisor, Performing Arts, at 305-995-1930.
