NEED HELP PAYING FOR COLLEGE?
IT ALL STARTS WITH A FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID!

Twelfth-grade students planning to go to college can get help paying for tuition by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Miami-Dade County Public Schools recently kicked off the 2012 FAFSA Frenzy:  Getting Help Paying for College Campaign!

Federal Student Aid plays a central and essential role in supporting postsecondary education by providing money for college to eligible students and families. Miami-Dade County Public Schools partners with postsecondary schools, financial institutions and others to deliver services that help students and families who are paying for college.

The “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” (FAFSA) is the starting point for obtaining financial aid for college and post-secondary education.  Data indicates that 90 percent of students who complete the FAFSA enroll in college.  It is important to note, beginning this year, FAFSA completion is a requirement to receive Florida Bright Futures Scholarships.  Students planning to start college in Fall 2012 should submit the FAFSA application immediately, but no later than May 15th.
