M-DCPS STUDENT NAMED 2012 SOCIAL STUDIES
 STUDENT OF THE YEAR

Estefania Pugliese, a senior at Academy for Advanced Academics-South has been selected as the 2012 Social Studies Student of the Year by the Dade County Council for Social Sciences.

Estefania is graduating at the top of her class and will be attending Mount Holyoke College as a Posse Scholar in the fall. Estefania founded the Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society at her school. She was the treasurer of the Key Club and was active in Model UN, Special Olympics, Geography Bee, Mock Trial and the Program in National Security.
