SCHOOL BOARD CHAIR HANTMAN, SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT CARVALHO ATTEND USDOE’S 2012 LABOR-MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE IN CINCINNATI School Board Chair Perla Tabares Hantman and Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho will be joining U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, national education leaders and more than 100 district and state leadership teams in Cincinnati today to kick off the two-day 2012 Labor-Management Conference. Also attending is Karen Aronowitz, president of the United Teachers of Dade. Today’s opening session begins at 1 p.m. -2:15 p.m. and can be seen LIVE at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/education-department . Leaders will discuss the past year’s challenges and progress in collaborating to transform the teaching profession in the service of increasing students’ success. The closing session will be on Thursday, May 24 from 2 p.m. - -2:30 p.m.
