M-DCPS HISPANIC STUDENTS LEAD THE STATE IN GRADUATION RATES
MIAMI – Hispanic students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) outpace students statewide in graduation rates. While Florida’s Hispanic students outpace the national graduation rate average by 10 percent, M-DCPS Hispanic students are graduating at far greater rates than their counterparts across the state.
According to Education Week's 2012 Diplomas Count report, the graduation rate among Hispanic students in Florida was slightly over 73 percent. Comparatively, in 2010-2011, M-DCPS Hispanic students' graduation rate reached nearly 80 percent. The graduation rate of M-DCPS Hispanic students has effectively raised Florida’s national placement, which is second in the country.
