CARVALHO, SPRINGER PLACE FRIENDLY WAGER ON NBA FINALS OUTCOME

MIAMI – In a friendly competition between two school district leaders, Miami-Dade Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho and Oklahoma City Public Schools Superintendent Karl Springer have placed an interesting wager on the outcome of the NBA Championship series between The Miami Heat and The Oklahoma Thunder.

The two have agreed that the superintendent from the city of the losing team will teach a primary class the history of the winning team’s city. Not only will the superintendent teach a history lesson about the city of the winning team, but he must also wear that team’s jersey over his white business shirt and tie during the lesson. The lesson will be simulcast to the respective primary class in the winning hometown.

“I am looking forward to Superintendent Springer’s lesson on the rich history of Miami,” said Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto Carvalho. “Miami is poised for another NBA championship, and I have full confidence in our Miami Heat team.”
“I am looking forward to seeing the pictures from Miami when Mr. Carvalho wears the OKC Thunder blue,” said Oklahoma City Public School Superintendent Karl Springer. “I have full confidence in our team and this is a great chance for Floridians to learn more about Oklahoma City and our state.”
