SUPERINTENDENT CARVALHO ‘GOES OVER THE EDGE’

MIAMI  – Miami-Dade Superintendent of Schools Alberto Carvalho is going over the edge — rappelling down the side of one of Miami’s tallest buildings to raise funds to benefit children and families in the Liberty City area.

Carvalho will take the plunge August 17th, at 4:30 p.m., rappelling down from the 19th floor pool deck of the city’s stunning JW Marriott Marquis Miami as part of “Over the Edge”, a fun and interactive fundraiser, which has garnered much attention and success around the country.  The activity will benefit the Miami Children’s Initiative, which works with youth, parents, residents, and others to benefit Liberty City by providing access to great schools and support to students so that they graduate from high school and go on to college.

“Over the Edge” participants are asked to raise a minimum of $2,500 to benefit The Miami Children’s Initiative—a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization focused on Liberty City’s prosperity.

The JW Marriott Marquis is located at 255 Biscayne Blvd. Way, Miami, FL 33131.
