This session will examine how leaders are bringing together their communities to create pathways to opportunity for the students who need it the most by aligning business, the community and schools to prepare students for the global economy.
The session shines a light on ways the nation can tackle its education and skill challenges, by looking at how three levels of leadership – teachers, principals and superintendents – can engage the community and each other to turn around a school, in order to deliver the skills students need for good-paying, high-skill jobs.
In Miami, Miami-Dade County Public Schools has partnered with the Beacon Council to identify important local industries and provide career pathways including internships for students. |
