‘THIRTY-FIVE STUDENTS ONE CITY’ PHOTO EXHIBIT @ DASH
SHOWCASES NYC EXPERIENCE

Thirty-five students from Design and Architecture Senior High School chronicled the three-weeks they spent in New York City this summer in a pre-college, cultural program with a photo essay of their experience. The essay exhibit is on display at the school’s New DASH Gallery, 4001 N.E. 2nd Ave., in the Design Distict.

The program was sponsored by Carlos and Rosa de la Cruz who partnered with The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The students explored all aspects of cultural offerings in New York City and attended The Pre-College Program at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) with scholarships from SVA. At the end of the pre-college experience, each student received college credit, made valuable faculty connections, and added important material to their portfolios.

The photo essay also was presented online as a blog with regular updates throughout the three weeks. This exhibit shows highlights from each of the 35 students’ multiple blog entries.
