CHRISTINA M. EVE ELEMENTARY WINS NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON AWARD

Christina M. Eve Elementary School was among seven Florida public schools named a 2012 Blue Ribbon School national award winner by the U.S. Department of Education. They will join 219 public schools nationwide at an award ceremony on Monday, Nov. 12, in Washington, D.C.

To be eligible for the national award, schools must be ranked among the highest in their state or have demonstrated dramatic gains in overall student achievement in both reading and mathematics. Christina Eve Elementary, which opened in 1999, is an “A” school located in a thriving, multicultural West Kendall community.

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in students' levels of academic achievement. Since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education's National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has honored America's most successful public and private elementary, middle, and high schools.
