MIAMI BEACH HIGH PRINCIPALTO BE RECOGNIZED AT
LEONARD MILLER PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP AWARD LUNCHEON

Miami-Dade public school principal, Dr. Rosann P. Sidener of Miami Beach Senior High will be recognized at the 10th Annual Leonard Miller Principal Leadership Award luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 14. The Council for Educational Change will honor her with a $10,000 check at the University of Miami’s Newman Alumni Center, located at 6200 San Amaro Drive, Coral Gables.

Since its inception, the Council has provided almost $7 million worth of resources to Miami-Dade County schools. Dr. Sidener and Miami Beach Senior High have been participants in both the PASS and Executive PASS programs. As a part of the PASS program, the Council matched $100,000 with $100,000 of private funding to be used to raise student achievement. Both of these programs utilize partnerships between the principal and a business CEO.

The award honors the late Leonard Miller, a well-known advocate for education. Mr. Miller was the Council founder and former chair of its predecessor organization, the South Florida Annenberg Challenge. It recognizes exemplary school leadership in three areas: student achievement, parent/community involvement, and empowering school-based leadership.
