WHY: |
This is part of an ongoing effort to give Academy students insight into the importance of a college education, while sharing information about courses available at FIU and the careers they lead to, along with guidance on internship and career readiness.
This is the second of a two-part visit from Miami-Dade students in Academy programs to FIU Business. It is funded through a $5,000 grant from the National Academy Foundation and the Academy of Finance Advisory Board. Activities include:
- Tour of the State Farm Financial Literacy Lab, and use of Bloomberg terminals;
- A talk from College of Business School Dean David Klock and Miami-Dade County Public Schools Chief Academic Officer Milagros Fornell;

Meeting Academy of Finance board members, who related personal experience, guidance and encouragement.
